A TOURISITIC AREA

Villeneuve-de-Duras is in the Lot et Garonne, a few miles to the south of The Dordogne and close to the Gironde Department, making it an excellent base for exploring this beautiful area.
The region has literally thousands of chateaux to view and is dotted with lovely medieval villages and bastide towns with superb gastronomic markets most days.
The region is most famous for its Prunes, Foie gras and of course, wine. With the growing regions of Bergerac, Bordeaux, St Emillion, Monbazilliac, Pomeral and Cote de Duras, you will never go thirsty with lots of opportunity for tasting and buying.
The closest vineyard is 100yards away ‘Domaine du Grand Mayne’ so you need not travel far for your first taste!

You can canoe down the Dordogne, Horse ride through the vines, go play a round of golf at renowned Chateau Vigiers, fishing at one of the local lakes or you can just drive around and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wonderful restaurants with their ‘Plat de Jour’.
